Emergence of a Further Gain in Vision One Year After Retinal Gene Therapy

Funding from the Macula Vision Research Foundation continues to provide the opportunity for this progress and its eventual goal of initiating treatments to patients with macular degeneration.

Jacobson at The Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, has for many years accelerated progress toward the ultimate goal of initiating treatment trials for Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA). Very recently, such a trial in one subset of these patients was initiated.
