Seminar: November 4, 2006
A presentation by Delaware Valley Retina Associates and Macula Vision Resarch Foundation (MVRF) boasted an agenda of exceptional speakers on Saturday, November 4 at the Princeton Senior Resource Center. The enthusiastic audience was eager for the valuable information, which was shared as part of series of seminars that are free and open to the public.
Lea S. Bramnick, Executive Director of MVRF, explained that the mission of MVRF is to fund research into the cause, prevention, treatment, and ultimately the cure for macular degeneration is aided by the fact that one hundred percent of all dollars raised go toward this goal, as the organization is entirely underwritten for all administrative expenses.
Dr. Jeffrey Lipkowitz talked about the newest treatments and the most recent information on how to treat macular degeneration, and then Dr. Darma Ie gave an interesting update on the latest research.
Anna DiGesu gave a very valuable talk about services for visually impaired people, as well as a discussion of the various adaptive aides that people can take advantage of to enhance their lives.
The final speaker was Mary Betty Roeder, a lively and enthusiastic woman who has macular degeneration. Ms. Roeder talked about the many interesting things she does with her life, and how she never lets her condition stand in her way. Her optimism and outlook were positive and inspiring to the many in the crowded audience.
